Noah Part 2

This week I want to continue with thoughts concerning Noah and his obedience to God. When God gave Noah his instructions, Noah knew he must follow them to the letter, because the Ark was to be the salvation for him and his family. There were not to be any substitutions of materials, dimensions or anything else concerning the building of the ark. Noah knew that just because God did not say, “Don’t use Hickory or Oak” they were excluded when God said use Gopher wood. Today, there are many who are under the assumption because God does not say in His word “Not To” then they have the ability to make adaptations and changes to His word. In John 12:48 Christ makes the following statement, “He that rejects me, and receives not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” In this passage of scripture, Christ makes a statement which is exclusive. Just as the instructions given to Noah were exclusive in the building of the Ark so are the instructions given by the word of God today. The word of God is what man will be judged by when the Lord returns. Any changes, modifications or adaptations made to His word will not be acceptable. As an example, when God says to repent or perish (Luke 13:3 & 5), that is what we must do if we want to go to Heaven. A person who is of true repentance is one who has sought out the instructions in God’s word of “What must I do to be saved?” These individuals have turned away from sin and turned to the Lord, Mark 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” When it comes to matters of salvation may we all be mindful of Noah and his obedience to the instructions God gave him. No other set of instructions will get us to Heaven other than what is written in the word of God! If you have comments or questions please contact me at tmdok4@windstream.net.
